The Association of German Plant Bakeries unanimously elected Norbert Lötz, managing director of production and technology at Harry-Brot, as its new president at the latest annual meeting, held in Munich on September 12.
Lötz is a trained master baker and succeeds Prof. Dr. Ulrike Detmers (Mestemacher), who did not stand for re-election after 12 years as president. According to the new president, the association’s main goal is to guide the industry through a phase of profound change and challenges, to seize opportunities and minimize risks.
The members also unanimously elected Dipl. Ing. agr. Heike Engels, Director of Purchasing at Lieken Brot und Backwaren GmbH, as the new vice president. Engels succeeds Hans-Jochen Holthausen (Harry-Brot), who had been vice president since 1999 and also did not stand for re-election.
Alexander Heberer, managing partner of Heberer GmbH & Co KG, was unanimously confirmed as vice president.
Heike Engels hopes for a strong baking industry that creates sustainable value in the future. For Alexander Heberer, representing the interests of bakery chains is a priority.
