The Bakels Group acquired Alimentos BYD S.A. de C.V. in Hidalgo, Mexico. The sale went into effect on June 9, 2026. With more than 50 years of experience in the market, BYD has established itself as a provider of ingredient solutions for the pastry, confectionery, and bakery industries in Mexico. Its innovative solutions include its meringue.

The transition of business operations has the support of the employees of both companies, ensuring continuity, Bakels announced.

By integrating the Mexico-based company into its operations, Bakels further strengthens its presence in Latin America, expands its regional capabilities and enhances its ability to serve customers across the region.”
