Biospringer by Lesaffre acquired selected intellectual property and technology of PTX Food Corp, an American company specializing in bacterial fermentation. The acquisition includes selected assets related to the Bioenhance product line. PTX Food was previously acquired by Biorigin, in 2008.

With this move, Biospringer expands its reach in food ingredients beyond yeast fermentation. Biospringer’s next step will be to transfer the acquired technology and equipment to its global plant network. By combining the newly acquired knowledge in fermented bacterial solutions and specialized technology with Biospringer’s extensive industrial network, Biospringer will accelerate the development of new solutions that address the evolving needs of today’s global food market.

As a leader in fermentation-based solutions in taste, nutrition, texture, and preservation, Biospringer prioritizes a collaborative approach, co-creating tailored solutions with customers around the world. It has an important footprint in Brazil, China, Europe, and North America.

“At Biospringer, we are driven by a clear vision to inspire joy, nourish communities, and protect our planet through better food for all. This acquisition is fully aligned with our commitment to delivering game-changing products that make a positive impact. From ingredient innovation to biotech platforms, from tradition to transformation, Biospringer is poised to be a key player in the industry, leveraging our robust global footprint and strong local collaborations to bring groundbreaking ideas to market and solidify our role as a trusted partner in the pursuit of a more sustainable and nourishing future,” says Carmen Arruda, Biospringer General Manager.
