Greggs reported a 7.4% increase in its total sales despite a ‘tough’ market, according to its Q4 Trading Update. The UK chain opened 207 new shops in 2025, including the first smaller-format Bitesize Greggs, which expanded its estate to 2,739 shops across the UK, as it continues to grow. The company anticipates around 120 net new shops to open in 2026. “The planned investment in additional supply chain capacity is on track, supporting our growth plans,” the company shared.
Among the highlights of the quarter, Greggs notes the launch of its three-part Breakfast Deal and the lunchtime Big Deal offer from GBP 5. It also brought back some seasonal favourites.
Roisin Currie, Chief Executive, commented: “We made good progress in 2025, in a challenging year where subdued consumer confidence impacted the food-to-go market. Against this backdrop, I’m pleased that Greggs outperformed the wider market and increased its market share of visits.” The Board anticipates that the full-year outcome will be in line with previous expectations.
