The German Bakers’ Confederation and GHM (Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH) extended their cooperation until 2039. As the conceptual sponsor of iba, the German Bakers‘ Confederation has again commissioned GHM to organize the exhibition for the upcoming five editions, held every three years, in Munich.

The contract extension builds on a long-standing partnership: back in 1958, both organizations laid the foundation for their collaboration at the ‘International Bakery Exhibition’, now known as iba. Since 2006, GHM has been solely responsible for organizing iba in cooperation with the German Bakers’ Confederation.

Roland Ermer, President of the German Bakers’ Confederation, emphasises: “This long-term commitment is an important strategic signal for the German baking industry. The contract extension is a clear commitment to the international importance of the German bakery trade and secures a strong platform for the baking industry worldwide for the coming years. With GHM, we have a reliable and excellent trade fair partner at our side. iba will thus remain the central location where innovations in the baking industry can be presented, market trends discussed and business relationships prepared and concluded across countries and continents. In addition, we would like to continue using iba in the future to bundle interests vis-à-vis politicians.”

Tobias Gröber, CEO and President of GHM, explains: “We are delighted about the trust placed in us and the continuation of this long-term partnership until 2039. The cooperation is of strategic importance for iba. It guarantees exhibitors and the entire industry the greatest possible planning security, even in turbulent times. Together with our association partners and customers, we are continuously developing the trade fair and consistently aligning it with the requirements of the market. In this way, we will continue to be a reliable partner for all market participants in the industry in the future.”
