Mondelēz partners with Amazon Web Services
Chicago - Circa October 2022: Mondelez International Headquarters. Mondelez is the snack food spin off of Kraft Foods.

Mondelēz International announced it partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support its digitalization plans. AWS is now its “strategic cloud provider” and has already migrated hundreds of tasks, Mondelēz announced. The cloud infrastructure and service partnership will improve security, agility, and reliability for Mondelēz. The snack giant is migrating its ERP landscape to SAP RISE powered by AWS.

“A key focus of our growth strategy is our digital transformation,” said Kostas Georgakopoulos, Chief Technology Officer, and Chief Information Security Officer at Mondelēz. “AWS is a strategic partner complementing our own internal Cloud Platform Engineering capabilities to lead digital transformation across the Enterprise.”

“Mondelēz has a clear vision of how the cloud, AI, and systems like SAP RISE can fuel its growth, and it is truly impressive to see the company execute on that vision,” said Rich Geraffo, Vice President, AWS North America.

In 2023, Mondelēz achieved net revenues of approximately USD 36 billion. Earlier in December, the company was reportedly considering a potentially multi-billion-dollar acquisition of Hershey. The news caused Hershey shares to jump up by 19% on December 13, following a report from Bloomberg. A new report from the same source said that Hershey’s main owner turned down the offer from Mondelēz for being too low.

“Mondelēz remains committed to an acquisition strategy that is focused on bolt-on assets similar to the recent acquisitions of Chipita, Clif and Ricolino,” the company underlined in a recent statement.
