Senneville officially launched its new refrigerated dessert factory into production. The facility in Călan, Hunedoara County – Romania, is an investment worth EUR 4 million and spans approximately 2,000 sqm. It includes “a modern production hall, state-of-the-art cold rooms, and storage and logistics facilities that meet European standard,” David Alb, CEO, detailed in an announcement.
The investment was made from Senneville’s own funds, bank financing, and European funds accessed for the technological equipment line through the Just Transition Program, together with the West Regional Development Agency – West RDA.
Senneville sells its products through the country’s main retail chains, including Auchan, Carrefour, Kaufland, Profi and Mega Image.
“When Romania builds, retail wins. The new factory in Călan is essential for reaching the maximum capacity of the refrigerated range and consolidates Senneville’s presence in modern retail in Romania. In addition, we need new investments in food production units to reduce dependence on imports. Balancing the import-export trade deficit is one of the greatest structural needs of the Romanian economy,” added Alb.
The company was founded in 1993 and sells an extensive portfolio of desserts, from croissants to cakes in diverse flavors and styles.
