Grupo Bimbo seeks EUR 1.34 billion in damages from Maple Leaf

Grupo Bimbo filed a claim against Maple Leaf Foods and some of its former senior officers, seeking over CAD 2 billion (EUR 1,34 billion) in damages for alleged fraudulent and negligent misrepresentation during the Canada Bread sale process, or restitution for unjust enrichment.

Canada Bread fined for fixing bread prices

Canada Bread will pay a CAD 50 million fine concerning two wholesale price increases implemented by Weston Foods (Canada) and Canada Bread more than a decade ago, when Canada Bread was majority owned and controlled by Maple Leaf Foods.
