Swedish industry leader Pågen is building a new bakery. According to the Swedish newsletter Food Supply, which cites Pågen, Northern Europe’s largest bakery, with a capacity of 510,000 tons of food per year, is being built in the north of the city of Landskrona.
Lantmännen Unibake Sweden is building a new production facility in Örebro, to expand its bread business with added production capacity.
Pågen introduced a new taste experience aimed at all eating occasions: the Greek Country Bread, an unsweetened country bread that reminds of Greece and summer memories. The rustic bread can be toasted or dipped in olive oil with the food, its maker recommends. This 560 g bread is baked with sea salt for added flavor.
Currently, what is probably Sweden’s most sought-after bakery is called “Mr. Cake” – a concept that combines the American bakery with a Swedish Fika*.
