Valora, the European retail unit of FEMSA (Fomento Económico Mexicano, S.A.B. de C.V.), increased its operating profit once again after the record year of 2024. Its operating profit rose from CHF 97 million to CHF 105.5 million.

Group-wide sales remained at the previous year’s level of CHF 2.9 billion.

Valora continued to advance the expansion of its avec convenience format in the German market. The conversion of approximately 90 ServiceStore DB outlets into avec stores at German train stations, which began in 2025, is progressing and is expected to be completed later this year.

Despite challenging customer traffic in its core markets of Switzerland and Germany, as well as ongoing construction activities on the German rail network, the Food Service B2C division, with formats such as BackWerk, Ditsch, and Brezelkönig, achieved strong operating results last year.

Ditsch, the pretzel bakery and global market leader in wholesale pretzel products, achieved stable results in the German market. In the USA, it was able to gradually expand the capacity of its second production facility, which opened at the end of 2024, throughout the year.

Given the high demand for fresh food on the go, Valora further developed its food-to-go offerings. In Switzerland, the integration of the Kitchen concept and Brezelkönig clip-ins into avec stores was accelerated.

At the end of the year, the first avec store based on the new concept opened in Hamburg, where fresh food is prepared several times a day. It serves as a reference format for future locations.

Ditsch also continued its international foodservice expansion. At the beginning of 2025, the first branch in Austria opened at Vienna’s main train station. Together with Valora’s parent company FEMSA, Ditsch already operates seven clip-in kiosks in OXXO convenience stores in Mexico. By mid-2026, Valora will merge its Retail and Food Service B2C divisions into a single organizational unit.
