Bakers in France teamed up to bake the world’s longest baguette on May 5 – a 140.53 meter-long, and 5 cm-thick bread that brings the title, previously held by Italy, back to France.

The baguette was made in suburban Paris as a part of an event organized for the French Confederation of bakers and pastry chefs, Reuters reports. The French bakers started forming the dough at 3 AM and then placed it in a slow-moving oven on wheels, specially built for the occasion, the press agency adds.

A Guinness World Records judge validated the effort and confirmed the new record. The baguette was shared with the public and was donated to the homeless.
