Meltio, a laser metal deposition technology manufacturer, announced that K3D became the first official service bureau and a key contributor to its application development in Europe. K3D was appointed in this role after acquiring two Meltio systems.

By adding both the plug-and-play metal 3D printer, the Meltio M450, and the Meltio Engine integrated into a robotic arm, K3D will play a key role in making this technology accessible across Europe. They will also assist in the improvement of this technology.

This agreement was achieved with the help of 3D Printer Solutions, Meltio’s official sales partner in the Benelux.

K3D is a Dutch technology center aiming to provide accessible and affordable metal 3D printing services to a variety of industries. It is a subsidiary of Royal Kaak and the 3D-printed tools are frequently used in the food industry, for which they are food-safe certified (EC 1935/2004 EU, EC directive 2023/2006 – Good Manufacturing Process). “Whether it’s prototypes, functional parts or small series, the food-related applications are unlimited,” Kaak explained.

“We are thrilled to be working with K3D and 3D Printer Solutions, as this collaboration between us serves as a great indicator of how Meltio’s partner ecosystem is evolving. Together with K3D, we will be able to cater to the ever-growing interest in Meltio’s technology and its applications,” said Gerard García, Head of Sales and Marketing at Meltio.
