Cherrytree bakery, based in Burnley, UK, confirmed a deal to buy a 12,000 sqft building, next to its facility on Billington Road. The business plans to expand following new retail contracts. It has already hired 50 additional people to support the expansion, according to Yahoo News.

The business has enjoyed growth for the past year, with continuously increasing sales, managing director Mark Beaumont said. The company could double its turnover to GBP 50 million over the next three years. Earlier this year, an additional weekend shift was introduced, to cope with growing orders.

The bakery was first founded in 1984. Its specialty products include muffins, tray bakes and Chorley cakes, which can also be found in supermarkets and coffee shops.
