iba 2023 will introduce a new hall structure. The organizers announced the halls will be grouped by topic this year: packaging technology in hall B1, and production technology and equipment in halls A1, A2, B2, B3, C1 and C2. Artisan bakeries will be showcased in halls A3 and A4. Raw materials and ingredients will take to the stage in the adjacent hall B4.
The upcoming show editions have also been
announced: after this year’s iba (Munich, October 22-26), it will next be held from
May 18 to 22, in Düsseldorf. It will then return to its regular three-year
cycle from 2027, when it returns to Munich.
To highlight the industry’s main trends, the iba.TOPICS will be introduced this year, including the newly introduced focus topics – food trends, artisan bakery, health and sustainability, digitalization, complete solutions and quality management. Food trends, for example, will highlight the latest food culture developments, new products and opportunities with alternative ingredients. For artisan bakery, the focus is on traditional and modern crafts, vocational training and culture.
Sustainability is another focus topic. It will be reflected with themes including the use of regional and seasonal products, the possibility of ecological packaging and energy- and resource-saving production.
Another focus is on how turnkey solutions increase efficiency, quality management and sustainability.
At the moment, 90% of the show area is booked.
