ISM will be held from April 23 to 25, and will be scaled down from four to three days in 2023, in response to feedback from the confectionery and snack industry, and ISM’s sponsoring associations. The organization is examining the logistics of hosting the trade show in April, according to a Koelnmesse update. This will be a one-off reassignment of the shows that are usually held in January.
The entire confectionery industry is currently facing extreme challenges with dramatic cost explosions for raw materials, energy and logistics as well as unpredictable consumer behavior, the associations said. The additional time for a new edition of the trade fair will allow for better planning, they anticipate.
ProSweets Cologne, which is normally held in parallel, is examining the logistics of being held in April as well, in consultation with the trade fair’s sponsors. Further details will be announced as information becomes available.
“With the one-time date shift, we are meeting the wishes of the confectionery and snack industry and thus ensuring the greatest possible business opportunities for all companies and visitors involved. It is important to us to provide a fully comprehensive overview of the global market for the confectionery and snack industry and to ensure the usual high quality of exhibiting companies and international participating trade visitors,” said Gerald Böse, Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH.
Preparations for the event in April are already in full swing, Koelnmesse announced.
ISM Middle East is set to take place in Dubai from November 08 to 10, 2022.
