At IBIE, the packaging specialist will unveil two new developments: the Enviro-Lok PE, which joins the sustainable closure family of products, and the 872 Plus, a new bag closing machine. Kwik Lok shared a look behind the scenes of its IBIE stand, in an interview:
f2m: What are you preparing to highlight at IBIE?
Kwik Lok: Kwik Lok is excited to demonstrate a full complement of closures, closing machines, printers, and labels. We have something for bakeries of all sizes. A key feature of our booth will be the new 872 Plus. The 872 Plus is as reliable as earlier models. It is easy to install and maintain, and its smaller size takes up less room on the bakery line. If you have an older model 872, it is time to move to the 872 Plus. If you have not experienced the worry-free 872 models, stop in and learn more.
We encourage attendees to see our sustainable closure solutions, including a new member of the Enviro-Lok family, the Enviro-Lok PE. The Enviro-Lok PE is a great way to move toward a circular packaging solution and is designed to run in most current Kwik Lok machines. It is also metal-free!
Thinking about using 2D barcodes on your packaging? Kwik Lok also offers labels for tracking and added communication and marketing opportunities with your customers. Kwik Lok is a GS1 Standards Partner and offers retail-compliant labeling solutions. Many of our machines are label-ready. If you are thinking about sustainability, Kwik Lok offers labels that are ultrasonically welded on our Enviro-Lok products, which means there is no adhesive.
We have some great equipment innovations that we’re bringing to IBIE, including the Enviro-Lok PE and the 872 Plus.”

f2m: What is one takeaway that visitors should keep in mind about your stand this year?
Kwik Lok: With over 70 years as the leader in bag closures, Kwik Lok offers reliable solutions that scale with your bakery as it grows and changes. Because we are global, we can provide our products worldwide. We will have our staff ready to discuss what you need today, and where you are heading with your business so you can plan for the future.

Kwik Lok: All bakeries are working to navigate new technology, environmental regulations, and consumer pressures, all while keeping an eye on the bottom line. While conditions may not be the same in all markets, balancing these priorities is impacting most bakeries. Kwik Lok is always innovating, so we have solutions when you need them. Whether you are looking for a sustainable option that works with your current machine, like the Enviro-Lok PP or PE, want to communicate more with the consumer with 2D barcodes and labels or are ready to increase the speed of your line without introducing too much complexity with our 872 Plus, we have solutions for you.
f2m: What types of solutions are you requested the most on these geographies, from your portfolio?
Kwik Lok: It is dependent on the size of the bakery and the products they need to package and close. We have something for everyone from smaller artisan and in-store bakeries that need to keep their labor resources focused on baking and customer service to large commercial bakeries that are operating many high-speed lines and rely on keeping their lines up, we will have great solutions to demonstrate at IBIE.
