Dr. Albert Christmann hands over operational management to Carl Oetker and Dr. Niels Lorenz completes the new Group Management, as part of the Oetker Group’s long-term personnel and succession planning.

On May 1, 2025, Dr. Albert Christmann will step down as General Partner of Dr. August Oetker KG, from the Group Management of the Oetker Group and as Chairman of the International Executive Board of Dr. August Oetker Nahrungsmittel KG. He will then join the Advisory Board of Dr. August Oetker KG, the holding company of the Oetker Group, where he will take over the position held by Richard Oetker on the Group’s top supervisory body until April 30, 2025.

Carl Oetker takes over Dr. Albert Christmann’s operational duties in the Executive Board; he was previously responsible for the Purchasing Department in the Executive Board of Dr. August Oetker Nahrungsmittel KG. As Chairman of the Executive Board, he will be responsible for the areas of Corporate Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions, Purchasing and Corporate Communication and will accompany the German national company as well as the Dr. Oetker national companies in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg as a coach. In the Group Management of the Oetker Group, he will succeed his predecessor Dr. Albert Christmann as General Partner of the Dr. August Oetker KG and in responsibility for the Food Division and Corporate Communication.

Carl Oetker, great-great-grandson of the company’s founder Dr. August Oetker, studied business administration with a focus on finance in Maastricht, Turin and London, and worked in an international management consultancy from 2010 to 2012 and then in various investment companies. In 2020, he began his career in the Oetker Group as assistant to Dr. Albert Christmann. Since 2022, he has been Managing Director of the Dr. Oetker national companies in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, where he has headed the Finance, Production, Supply Chains, Human Resources and IT departments. In mid-2024, Carl Oetker joined the International Executive Board of Dr. August Oetker Nahrungsmittel KG, where he took over responsibility for the company’s global Purchasing from Dr. Albert Christmann.
