Mondelēz International Chairman and CEO Dirk Van de Put inaugurated a street named after its iconic cookie. The Opava City Council renamed the street to ‘OREO Street’ to recognize the company’s significant impact on the local community and economy. The Czech city of Opava is home to the biggest European cookie factory owned by Mondelēz. Over 1,000 people work at the factory in Opava, which has a capacity of 110,000 tons of cookies and wafers annually. OREO and Milka brands are made here.
“We are not merely making history; we are shaping our future Vision for 2030,” said Emmanuel Chilaud, Senior Director of the Czech biscuit production cluster.
“The creation of OREO Street in Opava represents more than a tribute to past achievements; it is a strategic step that highlights our ongoing commitment to growth and innovation!” Mondelēz wrote in a LinkedIn post.
