Nairn’s Oatcakes has been working on several new sourdough products to add to its Flatbread range. They are gluten-free, approved by the Coeliac UK organization, vegan-friendly, made with wholegrain oats and high in fiber. The new ranges are baked in Nairn’s dedicated gluten-free bakery. No artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives are used. The new biscuits and crackers are sold in Waitrose supermarkets for GBP 1.99 and can be found in the bakery’s online shop, www.nairns.com.

“The rise of sourdough has been one of the most significant bakery trends of recent years, and consumer demand for the signature ‘tangy taste’ has inspired many developments across multiple categories, including savory biscuits and crackers. To date, there has not been a successful iteration in the free-from aisle and we hope to change that,” Nairn’s said in a post.

The larger format of a flatbread is perfectly suited to lunchtime, where sourdough bread or other bread alternatives tend to feature heavily, the company emphasized.
