Krispy Kreme signed a franchise agreement with Glazed Holding Company SA, a Geneva-based franchise operator, which will open the first shop in Lausanne in Q2 2023. The first Hot Light Theater Shop in Switzerland is located at Rue Pichard, in the heart of Lausanne. There, guests will be able to witness the preparation of freshly-made doughnuts from start to finish through the Doughnut Theater.
Nicolas Duleroy, Glazed Holding Company’s CEO, shared, “I am delighted to share the joy that is Krispy Kreme with the people of Switzerland. Our guests will finally be able to try the world’s most loved sweet treat while enjoying such a unique experience. We look forward to executing Krispy Kreme’s omnichannel model to bring Krispy Kreme doughnuts to our guests in a variety of convenient ways –at our shops, via e-commerce, or delivered fresh daily to additional points of access.
Shortly after opening the flagship shop in Lausanne, Glazed Holding Company will open more Krispy Kreme shops in Romandie, and then expand throughout the country. It will create over 150 jobs, it estimates.
Raphaël Duvivier, CFO & COO of Market Development of Krispy Kreme, also added, “We are thrilled for the Swiss to have the chance to try our freshly made doughnuts for their sharing occasions and celebrations. The Hot Light Theater Shop will certainly be a hit, giving a front-seat view to what makes Krispy Kreme doughnuts exceptionally delicious. Opening in such a vibrant city is exciting, and we look forward to seeing the brand continue to grow across Switzerland in the coming years.”
