On March 8, MPREIS held an inauguration ceremony for its new oven, named ‘Therese’s Oven’ after the MPREIS founder, Therese Mölk. With the new equipment, the bakery can achieve better crust formation, shorter baking times and considerable energy savings, it says.

‘Therese’s bread’ is known for its long processing technique, which makes it particularly aromatic and improves its digestibility, with a longer shelf life. The new oven technology from Kornfeil respects Therese’s traditional craftsmanship.

Mathias Mölk, head of food production and co-owner of MPREIS: “With ‘Therese’s oven’, we are sending a clear signal for the further development of the Therese Mölk bakery as we are increasing our production capacity by 30%. We are also creating new jobs and strengthening Tyrol as a business location in the long term. Our new oven represents the highest performance and efficiency. Together with our partner Kornfeil, we managed to install the high-tech oven in the bakery in record time.”

Kornfeil co-owners Martina and Karolina Kornfeilova comment: “Thanks to our special system, we achieve better crust formation with up to 25% shorter baking time. In addition, more bread can be baked on the same surface, which, in turn, leads to considerable energy savings. In addition, the higher baking weight leads to a longer minimum shelf life. We, at Kornfeil, are proud to support MPREIS with this innovation. I wish you smooth operations and many satisfied customers with the products from the Kornfeil oven.”

The facility of Therese Mölk bakery was newly built in 2013. According to the philosophy of ‘Nature. Craftsmanship. Time. Nothing else,’ they bake bread without artificial additives – around 12,000 tons of bread and baked products per year.

The bakery sells its specialties in the MPREIS and T&G supermarkets as well as bread shops in Tyrol, Salzburg, Carinthia, Vorarlberg, Upper Austria and South Tyrol.
