Martin Plaschg joins backaldrin as the new Key Account Manager Austria. The Styrian native began his professional career as a baker and pastry chef apprentice in his home region and has been living in Vienna and Lower Austria for 25 years.
After completing his apprenticeship, Plaschg worked as a seasonal pastry chef throughout Austria for several years. After a year in Kenya, where an acquaintance opened a bakery, he was drawn to the high seas. He worked on a ship for around seven years, traveling the world and supplying the guests on board with his baked goods.
Martin Plaschg then returned to Austria and gained experience in application technology, quality assurance, and later in sales, technical sales export, and key account export. Most recently, he worked in category management.
Since May 5, he has been Key Account Manager Austria at backaldrin. He comments on his new role: “I have known backaldrin since my apprenticeship. It was nice when Mr. Augendopler welcomed me at my first job interview. The baking industry fulfills me and I am delighted that I can now contribute my skills here.”
