südback 2025 is postponed to 2026
SÜDBACK 2019

Messe Stuttgart is postponing the edition of südback planned for 2025 until 2026, in response to the high concentration of trade fairs planned for next year. The decision is based on intensive discussions with the exhibitors.

After this autumn’s edition (October 26 to 29), südback will therefore no longer reconvene in 2025, but in 2026, when it is set up open from 24 to 27 October. In 2027 südback will take a break as usual before it is staged again in its known cycle in Stuttgart in 2028 and 2029.

“Due to the high concentration of trade fairs, the personnel and financial resources of many exhibitors are currently reaching their limits,” the exhibition’s organizers say. In order to cope with this challenge, Messe Stuttgart and its partners – e.g. the Southwest German Association of Bakers’ Guilds, the BÄKO Head Office and the Baden-Württemberg Regional Association of Confectioners’ Guilds – held a joint meeting and agreed to change the scheduling for südback.

“We considered at an early stage how we can react to the changed trade fair sequence for bakers and confectioners in Germany,” said Stefan Lohnert, President of Messe Stuttgart. “It was important for us to keep südback in Stuttgart and in the well-known date framework. A last-minute postponement in the full calendar for 2026 has now made this solution possible.”

“Our priority was to offer the exhibitors early planning security,” said Andreas Wiesinger, Executive Vice President of Messe Stuttgart. “Through this decision, we want to strengthen the trust in südback and satisfy the high expectations associated with the trade fair.”
