Japan’s Yamazaki Baking announced the purchase of the packaged bread business of Kobeya Baking, a company manufacturing bread, cakes, frozen dough and delicatessen. Kobeya has several bakeries, the majority of which are located in the Kanto and Kansai regions.

The business will be transferred, for an undisclosed amount, by the end of February, 2023, NHK World reports. Kobeya keeps its restaurant chain and other businesses.

Yamazaki, Japan’s largest manufacturer, aims to strengthen its sales in western Japan.
