The Oetker Group announced its plan to acquire KATHI, a manufacturer specializing in baking mixes and flours based in Halle. Corresponding contracts have already been signed. The Oetker Group will take over the production facility in Halle and the employees of KATHI.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. With the planned acquisition, the Oetker Group wants to expand its presence in the market segment of baking mixes and cake specialties.

KATHI will continue to be managed operationally as an independent company by the previous management under the leadership of Marco Thiele. Founded in 1951, the family-run company is well established with its products, especially among consumers in East Germany.
