The Women’s Networking Breakfast was held on November 29 at Fi Europe 2023, aiming to bridge the disconnect between women’s representation in leadership in the food industry and their involvement in food production and related purchasing decisions.

According to Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) data, women are responsible for 50% of the world’s food production and over 80% of food purchasing decisions globally. Yet, the representation of women in leadership positions within the food and beverage sector has not mirrored their significant influence on the ground.

The Women’s Networking Breakfast, a sold-out event, brought together inspiring women who are at the forefront of reshaping the industry, to celebrate their achievements and recognize their contributions, the organizers detailed. The pivotal role of women in transforming the food system and overcoming resistance to change was explored in a panel discussion. The segment explored how female leaders can leverage their skills to accelerate positive change and encourage companies and individuals to support gender diversity in leadership.

The agenda included a spotlight on health and wellness solutions for all life stages and lifestyles, with insights from ADM, a sponsor of the event.
