Freiberger Lebensmittel, one of the largest manufacturers of frozen pizza in Europe, is building a new frozen pizza factory on the premises of its subsidiary Stateside Foods, near Manchester, UK. Construction began in the fourth quarter of 2023, and commissioning is planned for the first quarter of 2025.

In addition to chilled pizza, the Freiberger Group will then also be able to produce frozen pizza at the site for the first time. Freiberger is investing a total of EUR 45 million in the new production facility. The new factory will be specifically designed for stone oven technology and will enable Freiberger to serve the high demand for frozen pizza on the British market more efficiently. This will not only shorten delivery times, the company says, but will also increase customer satisfaction and, last but not least, take into account the increasing demands for sustainability.

“With the new factory in Great Britain, we are taking an important step to strengthen our market presence and ensure the high quality of our products,” says Thomas Schulz, CSO of the Freiberger Group.

Freiberger Lebensmittel GmbH produces chilled and frozen products for the global retail and food service sectors. The company headquartered in Berlin was founded in 1976. The Freiberger Group has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Südzucker AG since 1998. The group now has companies at 13 locations in Europe and the USA. The company employs around 3,600 people worldwide.
