With over 2,400 stores across the UK, Greggs has become the country’s first fast-food chain, a ranking that previously belonged to Subway, which has 2,300 stores. The bakery opened 82 new locations this year alone and should have close to 150 new shops by the end of the year, Evening Standard reports. Currently, in London Greggs has 40 sites. The bakery anticipates it has the growth potential to exceed 3,000 stores. It recently announced 20.8% sales growth in the last three months.

Along with its store expansion, Greggs is introducing more vegetarian products in its menu, in addition to popular offerings such as its sausage rolls. The company is also promoting its online sales. In its latest campaign, it offers a free slice of pizza and a hot drink for those who sign up to the Greggs App before October 16.
