The Association of German Plant Bakeries unanimously elected Norbert Lötz, managing director of production and technology at Harry-Brot, as its new president at the latest annual meeting, held in Munich on September 12.
Grupo Bimbo received regulatory approval to acquire Wickbold in Brazil, the company announced. The transaction is subject to certain conditions imposed by the country’s competition authority. Bimbo expects to conclude the acquisition in the coming weeks.
Ditsch, the food service B2B unit of the Valora Group, established a new sales company in the UK. With the UK facility, Ditsch expands its international presence, in addition to its home market of Germany and its US operations.
Florian Gmeinwieser (53) is taking over as iba director, the show’s organizer, GHM, announced. Gmeinwieser succeeds Susann Seidemann, who is moving to a new management position within GHM. He will be responsible for the future and development of the trade fair.
Vandemoortele reported a sales increase of 10.6% in the first half of 2025 compared to the previous year, boosted by recent acquisitions. “In the first half of 2025, the Vandemoortele Group achieved solid growth despite a difficult market environment,” said CEO Yvon Guérin.
Bühler appointed Mike Häfeli as the new CEO of its Grains & Food business effective January 1, 2026. Johannes Wick will step down from his role as CEO Grains & Food at the end of 2025 after a decade in this leadership role and will take on a new position within Bühler.

Lantmännen Unibake acquired Boboli Benelux B.V., a Dutch market leader in savory baked goods, including Mediterranean flatbreads – focaccias, pizzas, and pizza crusts. The company has a strong presence in the Benelux countries, the UK, and Germany, and employs around 200 people.
