Russian bakery adds drone production

Tambov Bakery, a business 400 km from Moscow, uses its production facility for drone manufacturing, at the request of the army. Russian state media Rossia recently profiled the bakery, showing breads and drones on a production line.

“Last year, the military asked to send drones — the more the better,” The Moscow Times quotes Tambov Bakery’s deputy director Alexander Rudik, a former communications officer and a reserve lieutenant colonel. The bakery has the capacity to bake 35 metric tons of bakery products and is said to produce 200 drones per month, the news outlet reports.

Russia is looking to produce drones to use in the war against Ukraine. This summer, shopping malls in Russia started to be converted into drone manufacturing plants.
