Profit drops for Hovis

Hovis recently reported a pre-tax loss of GBP 28.6 million in 2022, while in 2021, it enjoyed a profit of GBP 20.2 million. Hovis has recorded GBP 309.8 million in sales by September ‘22, down from GBP 367.9 million the year before, according to the Times.

Industry welcomes Mercosur sugar trade

CIUS and CAOBISCO encourage the European Commission to conclude and ratify as soon as possible the agreed FTA with Mercosur.

Krispy Kreme explores Insomnia Cookies sale

Krispy Kreme announced it is exploring strategic scenarios for Insomnia Cookies, which may include selling the company. The move will allow the company to focus on its core business in the donut market. Krispy Kreme acquired a majority stake in Insomnia Cookies in 2018 and should earn approximately USD 230 million in revenues in fiscal year 2023.
