Lesaffre finalized the acquisition of dsm-firmenich’s yeast extract business today, October 2. Lesaffre’s Business Unit Biospringer, specializing in natural origin solutions from yeast fermentation, will integrate dsm-firmenich’s yeast derivatives processing technologies and products. The team of 46 dsm-firmenich employees working on yeast extracts, will also join.

IPCO extends its footprint in China with the acquisition of Nantong Langwei New Materials, ‘Long Goal’. Following the acquisition deal signed on October 13, 2023, IPCO increased its local steel belt production capabilities for the Chinese market. The move means IPCO benefits from lower cost levels and shorter lead times while also reducing CO2 emissions and risks caused by transportation to and from Sweden.
Trade visitors welcome iba’s comeback. This October, 1,073 exhibitors from 46 countries showcased their latest developments in 10 halls, for 57,000 visitors from 150 countries attending the show. The fair in Munich saw full aisles for an anticipated industry reunion. By comparison, more than 77,000 trade visitors from around 170 countries came to iba in 2018. In total, over 1,300 companies exhibited 5 years ago.
