Bühler opened a grains application center in Kano, Nigeria dedicated to processing local and ancient grains, to support food development with local grains. The Grain Processing and Innovation Center (GPIC) was developed in collaboration with Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc.
Bühler sees an increase in requests for flexibility regarding energy sources, energy-saving solutions and alternative heating technologies. To these, sustainability commitments are added, which also translates into an increasing interest in carbon-neutral solutions.
A new wafer baking plate will be launched, which is set to feature an inlet that supports even heat distribution. The equipment will be presented on May 5. Another highlight at the stand will be Bühler’s SWAKT-Eco wafer baking oven.
Bühler launched the next generation of its TAS grain cleaning system, the TAS LAAC. The latest model comes with a range of new features, including remote control for the machine settings and sensors that help connect the machine to digital services.

Bühler announced the delivery of its first Prime Masa plant in India – the second Prime Masa plant worldwide – to PV Sons Corn Milling. The plant will consume 84% less water, 52% less energy compared to a traditional process.
Bühler partnered with Austrian start-up Selectum to provide a new, healthy and CO2-neutral snack. Selectum launched Paddies, crunchy wafer pillows with a creamy dip inside at the end of 2019.
Bühler announced construction begins for its Energy & Manufacturing Technology Center in Uzwil, Switzerland, to house facilities for training and R&D. Construction of the building is expected to take around 18 months.
