Zeelandia closed an exclusive collaboration and licensing agreement with Innov from Ireland regarding sustainable free-from solutions. In this collaboration, Zeelandia will contribute with its production know-how and InnoV with technology.
The gluten-free product segment continues to enjoy steady growth, and quality continues to improve. To meet this demand, Zeelandia has been developing innovative products from its Italian location since 2008. Together with InnoV, Zeelandia is now in position to respond to the trend for gluten-free products worldwide.
The first result of the collaboration between the two companies is a gluten-free croissant that was co-developed, which is said to have superior quality compared to similar products on the market.
The new croissant and a gluten-free variant of the Spanish Cana, were presented at the Free From Functional Food Expo in June, in Barcelona.
“As an important supplier of ingredients, Zeelandia knows everything there is to know about the production process in bakeries”, said Wim van Drunen (Sales Manager Industry Netherlands) and Rutger van Rooijen (Corporate Director M&A and business development) in a statement. “Thanks to this collaboration with InnoV, we now also have all knowledge in-house in the field of developments, innovation and new technology with regard to a gluten-free range. InnoV is for us a valuable addition to our knowledge center: its expertise strengthens that of Zeelandia – and vice versa. We are therefore very happy with this exclusive and far-reaching collaboration.”
