Digitalization and artificial intelligence will receive special attention at iba, with several dedicated areas for modern software solutions that contribute to process optimization and customer service.
A new AI image-recognition service is unveiled at iba, which tracks in-store patisserie and bakery shelf performances in real-time. AI specialist MarketLab, in partnership with Puratos, developed Spotimize to help with shelf management, lower waste and improve the customer’s experience. During its current startup phase, the Spotimize service will be available to a limited number of customers in selected countries.
At iba, SENSURE is showcasing its vision inspection solutions (STARGATE series), which use high-speed, non-contact imaging cameras and/or profilometer lasers to quantify a wide range of product quality parameters (shape, size, color, height, topping coverage, volume, etc.) at high speed. All solutions provide continuous and quantitative data that can be used to identify process issues and create a library of information for analysis.
Robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) and automated order and payment processes will be showcased at iba, part of the show’s digitalization focus. Visitors will be able to discover new opportunities in the iba.DIGITALISATION AREA, supported by AHA 360° and Shop-IQ.
ECD will bring its thermal profiling technology to iba in October. The handheld M.O.L.E.™ EV6 sets a new benchmark for thermal data loggers, delivering instantaneous data access and intuitive control – now with a full-color touchscreen display. In addition to the six-channel M.O.L.E. EV6, the company’s BreadOMETER™, CakeOMETER™, and OvenBALANCER™ sensors will be demonstrated at the stand.
MECATHERM will introduce its latest advances to tackle the sustainability and digitalization challenges in the manufacturing of baking and sweet goods. The French specialist will showcase its complete solutions at the show, focusing on solutions to optimize energy efficiency, a new, easy-to-clean oven dedicated to delicate products, and its latest digital solutions.
Ashworth will launch a new smart solution at IBIE this year, the Smart Oven monitoring system, joining the Smart Spiral in this range.

The IBIE 2019, International Baking Industry Exposition, will take place in Las Vegas from 8 to 11 September. On an area of approximately 65,032 m2, more than 1,000 exhibitors will display products and services that pertain to the baking industry.
